“That was unfortunate. It was kind of an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further clarified that the signal was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I simply put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “The action was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”
