Intensive Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in supplying protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty projectiles struck energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow periods of air raids in the region, parts of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
